Emaciated .. Really??

The black/white pony was seized by the RSPCA in a raid on a Rescue Centre in Burton on Trent late last year, the photo was taken 8 days before the raid. The reason given for the pony being seized was that it was emaciated.

It's actually quite hefty...the sort you would have to watch and/or stable in the summer as it would get laminitis from getting too heavy. It actually looks to have very decent grazing too considering it's not summer. Was it a cruelty case then?? I saw pictures of my mare after they stole her and she was in a field full of ragwort...we used to spend hours digging up ragwort as it is poisonous to horses. I bet you the grazing it had with the R$PCA was inferior to what it has there...it looks like a well-managed paddock to be honest...can't see why a horse would be stolen from there.

The lady that this rescue belongs to takes great pride in what she does. I think Nigel Weller is now on her side so I think he`ll take them apart. The lady is always taking photos of her animals so there is plenty of ammunition for Nigel to use.

Well, a couple of years before my mare was stolen, so-called World Horse Welfare were called out to my yard. A) Concerns about a pony (receiving veterinary treatment) which had been lame for 12 weeks and B) Concerns about my mare who was 20 and at the end of a very bad winter was looking a bit underweight. When WHW turned up, the only two owners in the yard were a) me and b) the guy with the lame pony. He waiting for the vet and I waiting for the farrier. The vet had already been out to the lame pony twice and getting nowhere fast. WHW took one look at my mare and said 'I do not worry about thin horses, they have fewer problems than the overweight ones'. He then pointed to two ponies which looked a bit like the ones in this picture, quite well rounded, and informed us that those were the two he would worry about... they were much too fat and would end up with laminitis or other problems. Saying which, he did not even bother to ask who the owners were so he could advise them to get the weight off them. Yet two years on, the bitch from the RSPCA described my mare as 'emaciated' too and stole her. Not only did they not bother to look at the fat ones...and they had a money-grubbing shyster vet with them who could see they were fat...their informants obviously didn't bother to report them. We knew it was someone in the yard as they knew that the pony had been lame for 12 weeks exactly. A casual passer-by would not have taken that much notice. It amazes me that people get such a thrill from telling tales and shit-stirring.
I wonder who called the Gestapo to the pony in the pic, and more to the point, why would they take it? It really looks fit and happy.  

Who called them ... haven`t a clue.
There are some people out there who hate other people that are doing some good.
