This poor woman is one of their ideal candidates for prosecution. Sure they'll find something wrong so they can kick her when she's down  Evil or Very Mad

Animal Sanctuary Closed By Bailiffs

Post  Trilby Bee on Thu Jan 30, 2014 10:15 pm

Let's hope not misty...in this case I think there has been so much publicity already that they will try to play the part of the good guys? I never heard anything more about John Spicer, think they know when the public is watching and waiting for an outcome. I imagine their public relations department are busy trying to make up for all the rotten press RSPCA have deservedly had over the past few years. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the prosecutions go down this year in a desperate attempt to repair their tarnished image. Or is that too much to hope for?? Probably!

Sad, all the animals look so happy and well cared-for, obviously at the expense of her own security. Is there a fund anywhere been set up? It's the sort of thing people would be happy to donate to.

I personally don`t think it will be too long before the Gestapo starts to rethink the ways that they go about things. The new breed of barrister is beginning to show them up for what they are and are looking at things in a totally different light to the older type barrister.
The interesting part of this case will be that the Gestapo have said the animals are in good health and the public response has been good so technically there is no reason for any of those animals to be executed.

Will This Be Another Prosecution?

Post  Trilby Bee on Fri Jan 31, 2014 7:18 am

I'm thinking the same...their PR people know that every article which shows them in a bad light loses them megabucks. The guy in charge of prosecutions in the SE is Terry Stroud...bet he's not going to be as busy as he was. I've noticed a change even in the last two years. Not to say they are as they should be, but will be interested to see what the 'review' coughs up?

Mr Stroud

Post  millie1* on Fri Jan 31, 2014 10:27 am

I think Terry Stroud is responsible for all prosecutions in the UK not just the SE - wonder what his salary is???

Given they reprimanded one of their own for not making enough prosecutions (slapped wrists by court) I somehow dont think they will stop just cos of the press - they will spend more money on full page ads of pathetic animals to pull on the heart strings -

I dont have a problem with prosecuting wanton cruelty, but the Section 9 particularly of AWA 2006 is so subjective that they can use it whenever they like.

31.01.14

The RSPCA has had officers at this location since Wednesday evening (29 January) assisting with the care, feeding, watering and cleaning out of the animals there to ensure their welfare but we have now left the property.
We became involved after receiving a call from the bailiffs company late that day, asking for our help, and knew nothing about this situation at all before then.
We were not asked for any assistance with these animals prior to the eviction taking place. Had we known about this situation it might have been possible for us to help before it came to this.

This is a really sad story...RSPCA has admitted that they had no complaints from 'concerned members of the public' concerning any of the animals...which is proof enough that the owner was taking good care of all the animals; had she not been, someone would have been all too ready and willing to call them. She obviously spent all she had on the animals and it's backfired on her. Let's hope they don't kill too many. Crying or Very sad Pity people didn't donate to her rescue...any money donated now will go to line the pockets of the Gestapo. Wonder if they'll be passing round the begging bowl like they did for the seal pups?

Bit above my head but this is the background to how she got in this situation.
Supporters have been donating, can't find the link for that now but goal was to raise £10,000 and is now over £17k.
On Facebook page this morning she said the r$pca went back yesterday to take over. Couldn't be bothered/were unable to put poultry away last night so they were at the mercy of the elements & predators  Mad
The police have told the owner of the sanctuary that she cannot attend the property to see to her animals and can't even walk on the public footpath that is alongside it  Evil or Very Mad

Paula Campbell

Post  Trilby Bee on Sun Feb 02, 2014 12:32 pm

'Hoping for more support and publicity she agreed to allow the RSPCA to use the sanctuary to film one of their programmes for their animal rescue series featuring RSPCA officers carrying out their duties. However there was no mention on the programme broadcast nationally, neither was any mention given to the sanctuary in the TV credits at the end of the programme. What was more upsetting was the knowledge that the sanctuary staff will regularly go out and rescue animals and birds that the RSPCA will not go out to rescue. In one instance a greyhound was reported to the RSPCA at 11:45am and they did nothing, the sanctuary was called at 5:00pm and although it took them until 11:50pm they eventually found the starving abandoned dog.'

This is one bit that I find interesting and it shows the Gestapo in their true light...look at us and the good work we do, sod Mrs Campbell who spends her retirement pension genuinely saving animals. The fact is, they were afraid that if Paula got a mention on the credits, people would send donations to her rescue and The Greedy Ones would miss out! They are so transparent, aren't they?  Has the Gestapo come forward and acknowledged that this rescue was used to promote their 'charity'...I mean, has it occurred to them to say anything since the bailiffs moved in? Poor lady caught up in this scam which you can well believe happened. Sad
