True...yet they take on the Heythrop at a cost which even the judge described as 'truly staggering' when this method of slaughter surely causes just as much fear, pain and distress as fox-hunting? I would not describe halal slaughter as humane by anyone's reckoning. It should not be allowed in this country and those who want to eat meat produced in that manner should go to a country where it is considered normal.
Saying which, tho', taking on the Heythrop was something which made people start to question what on earth  CRAPS were up to and how they could possibly justify such amounts of money down the drain. Even people who were not especially 'anti-RSPCA' were mortified at them spending money like water. This was the point at which G Grant came out with the famous 'you cannot put a price on justice'...sure you can't if it's donated money. Evil or Very Mad I think it contributed to  their gradual downfall.
