Hope This Is Not The Beginning Of A Nightmare
G'day guys. Anyone know what this might be about?
Was out part of the evening yesterday but a friend called in to pick up some stuff she'd left before which had been too heavy to take without her car, and stayed a short while and fed the cats.
The intercom buzzer sounded, and thinking it might be me too lazy to dig out my key, she answered. Wait for it: Shock, horror, nightmare...gulp!! Some guy informed her that he was ''from the local R$PCA and could she ''buzz him in?'' She hung up the mouthpiece without replying and left him standing there, knowing that I would not give him a hero's welcome.. He rang again. This was at approximately 8 pm and she does not think he rang anyone else's door, as some you can hear, eg my next-door neighbor and downstairs.
She cannot remember his name, thinks it sounded like Phillip or Pillock. She says he sounded bossy and full of himself but defo did not call himself ''Inspector''.
Anyone know what the local employees get up to? If he had been collecting, he would have rung other numbers. I have checked some, and he did not. I am the only person in the block with animals (cats to be precise). Any suggestions welcomed.

Very suspicious.
Might be worth contacting your local gestapo just to find out if they know anything about staff out door knocking. Eight o`clock is a bit late for collecting.

Mentioned it to a friend of mine and she reckons they probably want to recruit me as an inspector!! ROFL!!
I did in fact mention it to a few near neighbours. none of whom got a visit...and who do not have animals. I think it's a bit suss too, but saying that I did get a begging letter from them (signed by Gavin Grant) quite some time ago. maybe they will offer me his job??

Hope this is not the beginning of a nightmare.
I would be careful as there are gangs of either Gypsies but mostly Eastern Europeans going round claiming to be from rspca or Battersea (my neighbour has had them visit her asking about her dog)they will try to steal your pets to use as BAIT for dog fighting..where I live it is rife
They sometimes leave a chalk mark outside your home so that they can come back later to steal your pet or they wait until you let your dog put into the garden then grab it and run off (I have seen this on cctv and they were so quick the poor dog was gone before the owner could react
I have lost count of the number of times I have warned owners about leaving their dogs tied up outside shops yet you still see them anyway hope they don't come back

Hope this is not the beginning of a nightmare?
Thanks Admin....had trouble finding this forum again
Had an interesting rant at a rspca officer today who was collecting for them
He displayed a huge sign saying "abused/starved/neglected with the pic of a tiny ginger kitten just to get your attention
I commented that indeed animals were being starved/abused and neglected yet they did nothing about it while "stealing" the pets of caring owners
There is a huge problem here with gypsy horses being left abandoned and starving which they refuse to even come out too one was recently found tied to a tree with a notice round his neck (not sure what it said)but again they refused to visit so another horse charity stepped in to rescue him,the next week a lurcher was found tied to the same tree which has now been taken in by a local rescue
Apparently they do not go to gypsy camps as its "too dangerous" as the men get abusive
I told him that my niece has to go to these camps (alone) as she monitors electronic tags for the government so if she can do that why can't he..he said that they didn't have enough officers to cover the area so I said why not get some of those who work at HQ Horsham of their fat backsides to help you
He told me I was being malcious and had upset him (good)then another woman came over to mention about the horses so I shouted that they didn't want to know and not to give them any money (she didn't)
Feeling somewhat smug now!

Hope This Is Not The Beginning Of A Nightmare
Hi Moonstone, great to hear from you and glad you are keeping up the good work!
The odd thing was that I checked with a few neighbours and none of them had a visit and none of them have pets. My cats are not visible from the front as my flat is 2nd floor at the back. I have a cat flap in my kitchen, cats can then go down the communal back stairs (old tradesman's entrance...hardly used )and then the back door has the 2nd cat flap. Anyone prowling around at the back might see a cat going in, but would not know which flat it was going to. They would have to ask a neighbour.
Didn't you have someone knocking and asking for money one evening? Was that a uniform or was it a local branch...do you know? I remember you told them to go away.
Have you heard from Millie or Candcane?

Hope this is not the beginning of a nightmare.
Hi trilby sorry that I havn't been around for a while but I am on a lot of Facebook rescue groups and I really don't need to mention rspca as the word is out that they are useless in fact every time someone mentions them they are told not to bother contacting them as they will not come out to a sick/starved/neglected/stray animal and if they do they will only kill it if they get their grubby paws on it so I kind of feel VINDICATED! as they have shown themselves up for the money grabbing morons that they really are and there is no need to keep going on about this as it is so well known (moving here was the best thing I could have done as I am away from them and also the evil bitch who grassed on me )BTW I questioned this inspector,he being new to the job about rspca giving interviews under caution and of course they can't as they have no legal powers to do so only the Police can do this so pass the word around as if they try this scam then you are within your rights to refuse to go unless the Police are involved
The ones I had round my old house were just collecting for rspca not working for them but I still gave them an earful
As to your cats do be careful these scumbags usually drive a white van and they steal pets to use as bait for fighting dogs

Well, moonstone, they get away with pretending they can interrogate you under caution and they do it all the time...I remember my useless solicitor asked me if I had been ''interviewed'' and when I said yes, he said , ''I imagine that was at the Police Station?'' and when I said no it wasn't, he said well that was where an ''interview'' normally took place. But he did not contact them to say, hey look here you f*****g shysters, this was not right. Legal Aid, you see...waste of space. I assume then that her statement was invalid and should never have been used as evidence? So that would make the whole case and conviction invalid?
What conniving bastards they are!!
By the way, did Gomez ever come back...you were looking for him for ages.

Yes Trilby I know how they lie I was "arrested" by their lovely inspector which at the time I thought was right as I believed that they could do that obviously I now know that they cannot arrest anyone and I should have told them to "get stuffed" I have spread the word around on various forums that they have no powers and are just an (not very good) animal charity as that way more animal owners will know their rights I must say I wasn't sure about the interview under caution which was why I questioned this chap so at least I know now that they can't do this
I never found my little cat Gomez and am still looking for him I go out every weekend (weather permitting) and usually with some of my other cats who like to come for a walk in the woods to look for him we have only twice met dog walkers which is a bit of a hazard when you wlak with cats and they were not too pleased either
