I know exactly how you feel, Tom, altho I understood your vet was going to accompany you to court next month. If he/she does, that will be a big help as most vets are afraid of them as they will report them to the veterinary regulatory board if they disagree with their actions. RSPCA only approves of vets who do and say as RSPCA orders. Got it? You might PM MIllie who is also in it up to her neck and has done a lot of private research and will happily advise and, if necessary, meet up with you and advise.
If you and others take a look at the link above...I saw the article in Metro (I think) earlier this week. Here is a blatant case of animal cruelty. There were more details in the Metro article as to how the old elephant was beaten with pitchforks by the keeper (now done a convenient runner) and the owner of this miserable circus. Happily this poor old girl is now in care. But I see no mention that the RSPCA is getting involved here...and for why? Because circus peple are on a par with travellers/Jamie Gray etc.... if they will use a pitchfork on an animal they would quite likely use it on a blue uniform? And the sentence is a JOKE. But you have inadequate fencing and they hound you...My horse had lice (I had nine letters from people who saw me treat her for lice including letters from animal charities..... and the magistrates did not even look at them). In my opinion the whole system is corrupt where the RSPCA is concerned. If you do not feel up to facing this, with your father being ill and everything, get it postponed until after Christmas. And make sure you have NOTHING to pay court costs as that will be another nightmare.

Best regards Tom

You are right there Tom, the RSPCA do seem to terrify people (no wonder) and I was convinced that the magistrates in my case were only interested in the RSPCA version of events.but don't give up, and stand your ground. Catdog has just posted on the old site to say thay they have won their case ( Very Happy ) and they have got their old dog (Sammy) back, so there IS hope for you and you have to be determined to sit it out for as long as it takes.

Hi Tom

I do know exactly how you feel - but if your animals are worth fighting for grab the bull by the balls and stick to it. If you are not happy with your solicitor and their efforts contact Nigel Weller - he travels the whole country so dont worry about where you are. He will do his best and seems to be one of the VERY few who does win and proves their wiley ways in court. He is working all my cases (except my prosecution) he is easy to talk to and has his own animals so understands. He will put in loads of legal stuff which I was not happy about but at the end of the day if he knows both the law and how animals need to be loved and cared for then that is better than a solicitor who only understands law (and probably not Animal Welfare as it only comes up invariably) PLEASE PLEASE talk to him - the SHG has his contact details if you cant find them on the website. He has horses too.......

Just dont give up - thats what they rely on.

Nigel has people he works with all the time who are not afraid of them, your friends might be because they would have to give their address and then RSPCA might check up on them too, I found that but you can do it without them.

giving up Empty Tom's Case

Post  Trilby Bee Thu Dec 06, 2012 10:53 am

I seem to recall that Tom's case was adjourned until 5 December...has anyone heard how it went? He was starting to sound fairly down and realised that not many people will stand up to the RSPCA. Maybe I got the date wrong, or maybe he managed to et it adjourned again.
