An investigation has been launched after two dogs were found dead in a security van at Creamfields.

The RSPCA was called to the music festival at Daresbury by Cheshire Police at around 6.30pm yesterday.

The ECHO understands two adult Rottweilers, one male and one female, were found dead in a security van in a staff area at the site and have been taken away for post mortem examinations to determine the cause of death.

An RSPCA spokesman said: "The RSPCA yesterday attended Creamfields Music Festival in Daresbury at the request of Cheshire Police, regarding the discovery of two dead dogs.

"The dogs, reported to be Rottweilers, were found in a security van on the premises.

"The bodies have been taken by the RSPCA for post mortem.

"We are working alongside Cheshire Police at present and our investigation is ongoing."
