Not the welfare crime of the century...
The pony could hardly walk, and often when feet have been left untrimmed for so long (and yes, it must have been a couple of years) the damage is done and the legs are permanently damaged.
My mare had seen a farrier two weeks before they stole her and he had said her feet were not ready to be done, he would call back (the Saturday after they stole her). Despite that, the rspca woman took PHOTOS of her feet which were about a quarter the length of this pony's feet and were in excellent condition. I gave her the number of my farrier for the bitch to ring so he could tell her exactly when my mare was seen but she refused to ring him as she knew it would be in MY favour and not theirs.
Whoever this so-called ''inspector'' was, she certainly met her match with this lady! It would be interesting to know the outcome...the fact that she threatened to get it on TV will likely get them moving as they hate bad publicity as it makes the donations dry up.

not the welfare crime of the century.
I belong to an ex-racehorse forum on Facebook and many owners on there (who obviously care about their horses) most have worked in the racing industry or have been owners and now keep the ex racers to train on for other duties their main concern coming out of winter is how to keep condition on their horses one poor girl has been threatened with being reported to gestapo because her horse has his ribs showing slightly T.B.s are different to other horses and need to be given time to get back into condition surely if rspca are going to steal horses they should be aware of this.
Recently a passed through Harlow/Essex and saw a number of gypsy horses tethered to the side of the road on a grass verge some had rugs on but one poor horse was on a sloping verge with no shelter he had a bucket there which I presume was for water no rug and had rainscald no hay..it was a cold day and raining but this horse was tethered on a short chain next to a busy road yet I know that these horses have been reported numerous times but are being left apparently rspca will not go out to gypsy camps as they are too scared they really are a joke

How true. The horse dealers and travellers get away with it as they are tough and stand up for each other. Before they stole and murdered my mare, WHW were called out by our nosey neighbour to an ex-racer who was skinny. The owner lived locally and was there three times a day without fail and fed him. If she went on holiday she left bins and bins of food (in addition we did haylage three times a day, four times in the winter). She would also leave a few hundred quid with me ''in case he needed anything else''). She took him out for short hacks simply to keep him mobile - but the nosey neighbour had to phone WHW to say how ''ill'' he was. He wasn't, he was just a typical 22-yr-old TB. WHW, a pompous prat came in and told her not to ride him, as if he thought he was a vet, stupid deluded idiot...he was not lame and clearly enjoyed his half hour bumble over the Downs. Luckily for her it was before AWA (2006) so RSPCA were not involved. Nosey bitch saw her and screamed, ''That horse is not supposed to be ridden! And what medication is he on?''. She was informed that he was not on any meds as he was not ill...but nosey rang WHW again who promptly turned up again and insisted that the vet was called. He was the vet that RSPCA use always use...a schyster who makes megabucks out of the RSPCA's donated millions. He (predictably) informed us that if it was his horse he would put it down, so poor Barbara had to have him put down.
Compare this to the scandal at Spindles Farm (horse dealers/travellers) when people were phoning for two years to report sick horses kept by Jamie Gray. There were about 140 horses, most of which were in awful condition, worm -infested, filthy and unfed. By the time WHW or RSPCA got there, many were dead and several more had to be put down. But of course then they took photos of the ones they ''seized'' and ''rescued'' ...hey guys, aren't we great; but they had left it so long, they and WHW...all useless...that many of these horses had died of starvation or disease. They will not confront horse dealers, like they will not do anything about halal slaughter. Pick the easy cases and the owners who won't attack you, God I hate them.
